Spinal manipulation/adjustment is generally considered a safe, effective treatment for acute or chronic pain. Manipulation is used to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury caused by a traumatic event, such as falling, or repetitive stress, such as sitting without proper back support. Our licensed chiropractor has years of experience in manipulating the joint, using a controlled, sudden force to improve range and quality of motion.
Non-invasive procedure that does not cause pain or irritation. We measure the muscular compensation about the spine. The scan is an electronic form of palpation, providing an objective means of quantifying an important measure of spinal health. The exam takes only a couple of minutes. The data helps determine the proper course of care and track your progress over time. Non-invasive procedure safe for children, pregnant women and seniors. We provide screenings at community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.
Massage therapy offers a natural conservative treatment approach that relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our office provides specific massage and muscular therapy that is tailored to meet the patient's condition and injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling, relaxing muscles, relieving muscle pain and spasms, and aid in recovery and range of motion. increase in muscle strength or decrease in disability
A non-invasive electrotherapy that produces acute analgesic effects and is commonly used for treatment of chronic pain. The electrical currents are sent through the skin, the body releases endorphins, the body’s natural opiates, thus producing a natural painkilling effect. It has been around for a long time as a method of pain suppression.
It is used to provide deep heating to soft tissues in the body. These tissues include muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments. Deep these tissues increases circulation to those tissues, which is thought to help the healing process. Increasing tissue temperature with ultrasound is also used to help decrease pain.Ultrasound in physical therapy is not to be confused with diagnostic ultrasound, which is an ultrasound that is used to see the inside of the body, such as checking on a fetus during pregnancy.
Light stretching of the neck, or cervical spine. The neck has seven vertebrae and any of these can be injured from whiplash in a minor car accident, or even from sitting for extended periods of time at work or while driving. Cervical traction helps create space between the vertebrae to keep the spinal discs healthy. It can be achieved through assisted stretching or with the help of a licensed chiropractor.
Gentle stretching of the lower spine that changes the force and position of the spine. This takes pressure off the spinal discs, which are gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine, by creating negative pressure in the disc. As a result, bulging or herniated disks may retract, taking pressure off nerves and other structures in your spine. This in turn, helps promote movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the discs so they can heal.
We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to enhance our patient´s return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Do you know how these supplements and vitamins interact with one another? Te'Lila Robinson can provide a structured nutritional program based on your individual needs.
